Learning how to make french fries is simple and oh, so rewarding. Homemade french fries are healthier, cheaper, and easy to freeze for future meals.

Healthy Oils For Frying

01 Avocado Oil

02 Coconut Oil

03 Ghee

04 Beef Tallow

Cut potatoes

Slice your scrubbed potatoes ¼-½ inch thick based on your preference. You can use a mandoline or a knife for this.

Soak potatoes

Soak your potatoes in a bowl of ice water for at least an hour or up to overnight.

Rinse & dry

drain your fries in a large strainer and rinse them with cold water. Place them on a towel or paper towel-lined baking tray and pat them dry

First fry

Heat your oil to 300 degrees F. In small batches, place your fries in the heated oil. Cook them for 5-7 minutes

Second fry

Bring your oil up to 400 degrees F. In small batches once again, lower your fries into the hot oil. Cook them until golden- about 6 minutes. Sprinkle with salt.
