Tropical Parsley Healthy Smoothie
Our household is continually seeking out ways to incorporate fresh herbs into our diets. If you’re used to using herbs as just a garnish for a meal, this sweet, tangy recipe will change your mind. Parsley can be so much more than a garnish, and it shines in this smoothie.
Homegrown (or storebought) herbs can be enjoyed in the off-season with this refreshing recipe loaded with nutrients and flavor. Tired of looking at that fresh parsley wilting away in your fridge? Popping it in the freezer is a great way to preserve it, and a healthy smoothie is an ideal meal to make with it. Simply tear off the leaves and tender stems and pack them into a freezer bag for later. Enjoy fresh garden herbs throughout the year!

Ingredients
These ingredients are easy to find and full of nutrition. You can buy your fruits pre-packaged frozen or slice and freeze fresh fruit when it’s in season. This smoothie is also great for adding protein powder to for an extra protein boost. We use our Vitamix blender for blending, but if you’re on a budget try the Ninja blender. We loved ours before we were gifted the Vitamix!
Spinach– We enjoy using (and hiding) veggies in our smoothies, and spinach pairs perfectly with the vibrant fruits here. It’s a nutrient-dense leafy green vegetable rich in vitamins and minerals that help support immune, eye, heart, and bone health.
Parsley– Parsley is high in vitamins A, C, and K, which are essential for various bodily functions. It provides significant amounts of iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. This smoothie is a great excuse to grow your own in a garden or on your kitchen windowsill!
Avocado– Helping to make this smoothie extra creamy, avocados are high in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and a good source of vitamins C, E, K, and several B vitamins, including folate.
Frozen pineapple– It supports respiratory health, promotes digestive health, aids in weight management, has anti-inflammatory effects, and promotes healing. Plus, it’s just plain delicious.
Frozen Mango– High in vitamins C & A, mangoes work to boost the immune system and fight off inflammation. Ripe mangoes make this smoothie sweet and easy to drink.
Ginger– Flavorwise, it adds a sharp, spicy kick to this tropical smoothie. The main bioactive compound in ginger, gingerol, has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, helping to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the body.
Milk– We use whole dairy milk, but you can use any kind you want. Try oat, almond, or coconut for a dairy-free smoothie.
